Liana LaMattina

Overview

Liana LaMattina concentrates her practice on government investigations and criminal defense, including defending clients at trial and in pre-indictment government investigations.  

Prior to joining Todd & Weld, Ms. LaMattina was an Assistant District Attorney in the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office where she conducted grand jury investigations into major felony offenses and served as lead counsel at numerous trials.

As a prosecutor, Ms. LaMattina handled a high-volume caseload, including matters involving armed robbery, indecent assault and battery, arson, armed assault with intent to murder, motor vehicle homicides, and illegal drug and firearms possession.  Ms. LaMattina also focused on alternative dispositions for defendants with substance use disorder and mental illness.  She diverted many defendants to Drug Court and helped create the Services Over Sentences (S.O.S.) Program for dual diagnosis services based on individual need.  

Prior to her legal career, Ms. LaMattina served as Legislative Aide to State Representative Adrian C. Madaro, where she managed constituent services, legislation, and state budget initiatives for the community of East Boston.

Ms. LaMattina is conversant in Spanish.
