Ben Wish elected to partnership at Todd & Weld LLP

Benjamin J. Wish was elected to the partnership at Todd & Weld LLP effective Jan. 1.

Mr. Wish concentrates his practice on complex commercial litigation, shareholder and real estate disputes, white collar criminal defense, as well as representing individuals pro bono in defending their First Amendment rights.  A seasoned litigator, he regularly advocates for clients in federal and state trial and appellate courts on a wide range of matters.

Mr. Wish's recent notable successes include:

  • Secured complete dismissal of criminal charges of mail fraud, false ERISA statements, and other charges brought in federal court against small business owners amounting to millions of dollars in alleged but unproven harm.
  • Secured affirmation by the Massachusetts Appeals Court of a trial court’s ruling ordering sale of business.
  • On behalf of an auto dealership, successfully resolved a dispute with an auto manufacturer resulting in the manufacturer’s withdrawal of a franchise termination notice of the auto dealership.
  • As cooperating counsel for the ACLU, persuaded a Massachusetts Superior Court judge to strike as violative of constitutional free speech rights the challenged portions of a school committee's policy on the public's participation in its meetings.

He has been named by Super Lawyers to Massachusetts Rising Stars for Business Litigation every year since 2013.

Mr. Wish earned his law degree cum laude from Boston College School of Law, and his undergraduate degree cum laude from Bates College.

He resides in Brookline, Mass., with his wife and son.  He is a member of the Town of Brookline Conservation Commission.
