Fall 2017 Family Law Newsletter: Does a divorcing spouse get credit in a property division for paying household bills?
The recently published Fall 2017 Family Law newsletter discusses important new developments in domestic relations matters, including whether a divorcing spouse is entitled to a credit in a property division for paying household bills while the divorce is pending.
The newsletter, published by partner Gary Owen Todd, also analyzes two recent court rulings. In one, a father was not required to pay child support to an unemployed adult child. The second ruling held a spouse in contempt for failing to satisfy a lump-sum payment despite a waiver of "spousal support" in the divorce decree.
