Ingrid Martin to present at White Collar Crime Conference
Ingrid S. Martin will present on emerging health care compliance issues in 2018 as part of the Boston Bar Association's White Collar Crime Conference.
At the Jan. 18 conference, Martin, a litigation partner in Todd & Weld's Government Investigations and Criminal Defense practice group, will cover a range of topics, including health care fraud investigations by the government that are increasingly based more on data analysis rather than the more traditional approach of relying on whistleblowers.
The emphasis on data analysis makes it imperative for health care providers to carefully assess the data provided to the government, including billing and prescription data, according to Martin.
An experienced criminal defense and civil litigation attorney, Martin regularly counsels healthcare providers and entities on compliance issues related to medical practices, where a seemingly minor infraction can rapidly escalate into licensing and accreditation challenges, allegations of false claims submissions, as well as exclusion from Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal healthcare programs.
