Julien Mundele appointed to ombudsman panel reviewing Boston Police internal investigations
Julien M. Mundele has been appointed to serve on the ombudsman panel reviewing Boston Police internal investigations cases.
The Community Ombudsman Oversight Panel considers appeals from decisions of the Police Department’s Internal Investigation Unit concerning alleged police misconduct. The panel can then make recommendations to the Police Commissioner on how to proceed.
Panel members must have extensive knowledge and experience in law enforcement, the criminal justice system, and the judicial process.
Mr. Mundele, a former Suffolk County assistant district attorney, concentrates his practice on government investigations, criminal defense and health law matters.
As a prosecutor, he handled a variety of investigations and prosecutions, including complex financial crimes, civil rights violations, and public corruption matters. Mr. Mundele is a member of the Criminal Law Steering Committee of the Boston Bar Association.
