Joseph Cacace to serve on Large Law Firm Subcommittee of newly created SJC Steering Committee on Lawyer Well-Being

Joseph M. Cacace of Todd & Weld LLP will serve on the Large Law Firm Subcommittee of the newly created Supreme Judicial Court Committee on Lawyer Well-Being.

The Steering Committee, which is comprised of various constituencies in the legal profession, will address how to reduce stress on attorneys, help restore work-life balance, increase professional satisfaction, and better support those lawyers who are confronting mental health and substance use disorders.

Studies indicate that a significant percentage of lawyers are struggling with serious physical and mental health issues related to increased financial pressures and heightened client and work expectations.

Retired SJC Justice Margot Botsford is coordinating the Steering Committee, whose members represent different areas of the legal community, including judges, bar regulators, legal employers, and representatives from law schools, bar associations, and the lawyer assistance program.

Mr. Cacace, who concentrates his litigation practice on complex business disputes, also serves on the Appellate Bench Bar Committee and Amicus Brief Committee of the Massachusetts Bar Association, and is on the Board of Governors of the SJC's Law Clerks' Society.
