Matt Furman presents webinar on commercial evictions
Matt Furman presented a webinar on the intricacies of litigating commercial evictions, including the interplay with tenant counterclaims.
The April 23 program – hosted by the Litigation Section of the Real Estate Bar Association – covered a variety of topics, including the numerous substantive and procedural issues unique to the commercial eviction process, key provisions in commercial leases, and how to navigate commercial evictions when a tenant asserts counterclaims, which must be pursued in a separate lawsuit apart from the underlying eviction.
A partner at the firm, Mr. Furman’s practice includes representing landowners, commercial tenants, and developers in real estate litigation matters. He regularly tries cases before judges and juries in Massachusetts courts, including the Superior Court’s Business Litigation Session and the Land Court.
He is also a member of the Litigation and Commercial Leasing Sections of the Real Estate Bar Association.
